SHANNON WHITWORTH

Shannon Whitworth’s musical journey has come full circle. In her early days she developed her fame as the front woman and songwriter for Asheville’s popular string band “The Biscuit Burners” then she transitioned to more progressive, critically acclaimed, pop influenced solo releases “Water Bound” and “High Tide.”  Now Shannon comes back to her roots and joins with long time friend and collaborator Barrett Smith, one of Asheville North Carolina’s  finest acoustic guitar players, to present her music in its most pure form-an “acoustic duet.”  Shannon sings with a completely unique, mesmerizing, sultry voice while interchanging between banjo, ukulele and guitar.  Barrett rounds out the sound with tasteful lead work and harmony vocals.  This show will feature mostly original songs with a few well chosen covers.  The intimacy and soul of this duo performance will captivate any music lover.
